Going Live

Going Live
The final stage: you stop trading a simulated account and trade Strix capital in real markets. The firm decides who moves, at its sole discretion.
What Live means
What does live mean?
A real brokerage account trading Strix's own capital in real markets, not simulated trading. The account belongs to the firm; you trade it and keep 80% of realized net profit.
How do I go live?
You cannot apply. Strix selects traders for Live at its sole discretion, based on performance and compliance, and sends you a Live Program Notice if you are chosen. There is no checklist to complete and no fee to pay. The Notice changes nothing on its own: every account you hold stays open and tradeable, and you have 30 calendar days to accept or decline.
Will Strix decide when I go Live?
Yes. The transition to Live is determined by Strix, based on account performance and compliance. Satisfying every rule does not entitle you to it.
Can I decline going Live and keep my funded account?
You can decline, but you cannot keep trading either way. Nothing closes when the Notice is sent: every account you hold stays open and tradeable, and you have 30 calendar days to answer. Declining ends your participation and closes your accounts, and every payout request pending at that moment is paid to you in cash, capped at $3,000 in total for you. Evaluation fees already paid are not refunded, and declining is not a breach and creates no debt.
I got a Live Program Notice. What happens to my accounts right now?
Nothing closes. On the date the Notice is sent, every evaluation and funded account you hold stays open and tradeable, and nothing closes until you answer or until the 30 days run out. The one thing the Notice acts on is payouts: new requests are paused, and every payout request you had already submitted is held while your notice is open. It is not cancelled and it is not paid in the meantime. Your answer resolves it: accepting cancels it without payment, declining pays it in cash up to the cap.
How long do I have to answer a Live Program Notice?
30 calendar days from the date of the Notice. The deadline is shown to you and is recorded on your account. An unanswered notice expires after 30 days and is treated as a decline: your accounts close, re-entry is barred, and no settlement is payable on an expired notice.
Can I request a payout while my Live Program Notice is open?
New requests are paused while your Live Program Notice is open. Anything you had already submitted is held: not cancelled, and not paid in the meantime. Your answer resolves it — accepting cancels it without payment, declining pays it in cash up to the cap.
If I decline, what happens to the payouts I already requested?
They are paid in cash. Every payout request pending at the moment you decline is summed across every account you hold and paid, capped at $3,000 in total for you as a trader. The cap is per person, not per account: five accounts with $2,000 pending each pays $3,000, not $10,000. Payment goes through the ordinary payout rail and needs the same tax and banking details any payout needs. If you decline with no request pending, you are paid nothing.
What happens to a payout I already requested when I move to Live?
While the Notice is open it is held. It stays open so you cannot submit a duplicate of it, and it is neither approved nor paid in the meantime. Your answer resolves it. If you accept, it is cancelled and you are paid nothing for it: nothing is credited in its place, and nothing about it is carried into your Live account or applied to your lock threshold. If you decline, it is paid in cash, capped at $3,000 in total for you. If you never answer, it is cancelled when the notice expires and nothing is paid for it.
My accounts closed right after I accepted the Live notice. Is that a bug?
No. Accepting is what closes them: your simulated accounts close and consolidate into one Live account. That is expected and not an error. If your accounts closed and you had not answered the Notice, tell support and we will check the record, because the Notice on its own closes nothing.
I hold several funded accounts. Do they add up at Live?
No. You hold exactly one Live account no matter how many evaluation or funded accounts you held, and your allocated capital is set by the single largest eligible funded account you held on the date of the Notice. Plans are never added together: a trader who held five funded accounts receives the same Live account as a trader who held one of the same size. The funded sizes eligible for advancement are $25,000, $50,000 and $100,000. Eligible does not mean selected, though: it means your plan size can be advanced, and admission stays at the firm's discretion at every size. The Live account is smaller in real dollars than the combined simulated nominal, because the capital at Live is real and it belongs to the firm.
Live mechanics
Do payouts change in live?
Yes. At Live you keep 80% of realized net trading profit, paid by the firm from its own funds. You can withdraw realized profit above your allocated capital, never an amount that would take equity below your drawdown floor.
Does taking a payout move my drawdown floor in Live?
No. At Live a payout never moves your floor, in either direction, and never brings the permanent lock closer or pushes it further away. Your floor trails your peak equity only. That is a real difference from the Funded stage, so do not carry the Funded behaviour across.
Are there payout caps or minimums in Live?
No caps in Live. The minimum is $100.
What is the trailing drawdown in Live?
Your drawdown is set by the funded plan you are promoted from: $5,000 on a 100K, $2,500 on a 50K and $2,000 on a 25K. Allocated capital is $50,000 on a 100K, $25,000 on a 50K and $12,500 on a 25K. The floor trails your peak equity upward, never moves down, and locks permanently once your realized profit reaches your lock threshold. That threshold is the published figure for your plan size and nothing reduces it, brings it forward or offsets it. Reaching the floor closes the account.
Is there a daily loss limit in Live?
Yes, until your floor locks: $1,500 on a 100K, $750 on a 50K and $600 on a 25K. Hitting it ends your trading for the rest of that session. Your open positions are NOT closed and nothing is liquidated — anything you are holding stays on, and the drawdown floor still applies to it. Only reaching the drawdown floor closes positions for you, and that ends the account permanently. The daily limit does not end your account and is not a breach; you trade again the next session, and it stops applying once your floor locks.
What if Interactive Brokers turns down my application?
You are not left with nothing. The Live Trader Agreement terminates automatically, we restore the accounts that closed and lift the restriction on opening new ones, and your rights at the prior stage are unaffected. You are not penalised for a decision a broker made.
Can I trade while traveling?
Yes. Everything runs online. If a location ever gives you access trouble, reach out to support.
Is the Live account my brokerage account?
No. The account belongs to Strix. You contribute no capital, hold no ownership or withdrawal right in the account itself, and never bear a trading loss: a losing day reduces what you can earn and is never a debt you owe.
What is the minimum payout in Live?
$100, with no cap.
Can I lose Live status?
If you reach your drawdown floor in Live, the account closes permanently. There is no redemption and no reset in Live.
What happens if my Live account closes?
A breached Live account ends permanently. Advancement to Live is one-way: once you have held a Live account you cannot return to an evaluation or funded account, so a closed Live account is the end of the program rather than a restart.
Can I trade major news events on a Live account?
Yes. News trading is allowed in every phase, Live included. The same drawdown and daily loss limit apply.
What can I trade in Live?
US Stocks, US Options, US Index Options. Every position must be fully defined-risk, and you may not take a position whose maximum loss cannot be calculated at entry. The full permitted and prohibited lists are on the Live Program Rules page.
